    A results-focused IT professional with 30+ years' experience in Healthcare, I have a proven track record of success in the following:

    Executive Leadership and Change Management – More than 20 years' experience in Information Technology applications and project management, with 25+ years of general business and team management experience, primarily in the field of Healthcare.

    Project, Portfolio, and Program Management – Extensive applications implementation experience. I possess strong technical project management, portfolio management, and program management skills. I have also played key roles in the area of project and program governance in multiple of my positions.

    Application and Vendor Management – 10+ years’ experience managing vendor developed applications and associated contracts, including contract review, development, and negotiations.

    Systems Operations Management – Substantial applications and system operations management experience, including 24x7 System Operations, Customer Support / Help Desk, Incident / Problem Management, and System Enhancements Management.

    Custom Systems Development – Significant software development and life-cycle management experience, including development of custom systems supporting eCommerce, Geocoding, Insurance Underwriting, Customer Relationship Management, Sales Force Automation, Product Market Analysis, and other systems, running on various operating systems and hardware platforms.

    While at EvergreenHealth, I was able to attain both AEHIT (Association for Executives in Healthcare Information Technology) and AEHIA (Association for Executives in Healthcare Information Applications) status from CHIME (College of Healthcare Information Management Executives), for which I am a Greater Seattle Area Ambassador.

    Director, Business Applications

    And, other duties, as assigned :-)

    Director over teams responsible for all aspects of Seattle Children's Business applications, including day to day operations, operational planning, and projects aligned with strategic needs. Duties include development and management of capital and operating budgets. Evaluation and continued improvement of customer service, coordination of services across the IT department, and ability to meet current and anticipated customer needs.

     

    Primary deliverables in my first year at Seattle Children's include:
    • Part of a team that negotiated of an Infor Lawson (ERP) Upgrade, Migration, and Re-hosting contract, later leading our project team to successful completion of this multi-million dollar Strategic Plan project.
    • Implemented Epic MyChart allowing collection of over $1.5M in guarantor payments in the first few months and have eliminated the need to manually post payments. Self-scheduling through MyChart has also added new patient/family communication options.
    • Implemented Click IACUC module on schedule. Currently working with business partners to identify key COI changes needed to support annual Research disclosure period.
    • SharePoint 2016 / Office 365 upgrade, completed the reprogramming of the SharePoint Search functionality, allowing end-users to search both in the SharePoint on premise and Office365.
    • Implemented ServiceNow CMDB and Discovery and continue to rollout new functionality including Incident Alerting, Performance Analytics, PPM, the retirement of Orchestrate.
    • Negotiated cancelation of a Computer Assisted Coding Contract for breach of contract. As part of a joint business / IS mediation team, helped negotiate a contract termination saving Seattle Children’s $580K in future contract payments.
    • Redesigned the IT Strategic Operating Plan, providing the groundwork for successful of formal IT Services Management and have also trained IS Leadership on the basics of ITIL.
